I have become more and more concerned about the extent that most of the products, even organic ones, are packaged in plastic. Much of the packaging is thick plastic bags that don't seem recyclable. This problem is much bigger than the Orcas coop, but I think our Coop should be encouraging the Coop association to push back against even the organic industry to work towards compostable or at least potentially recyclable plastic. I'm always struck, for instance, when buying organic produce that each piece has a plasticized sticker - hundreds of non-recyclable pieces of plastic each year. I think if the association of Coops becomes more broadly environmentally focused with purchasing decisions we could have an impact.
I just had my first kabocha squash of the season, and wow, was it sweet and delicious! I ate it steamed, then cooled, dipping it in the addictive Hope hummus. Next time, I might use it for squash soup, or roast it. Amazingly, even the skin is edible, and gets soft with cooking. Thank you for bringing in this delicious seasonal food!
And perhaps a different flavor/style of Miyoko's? The garlic herb one isn't really the bestest one, by a long shot! Thank you!
I really miss the Acme chocolate chip flavor. Vanilla with little chocolate chips. Can you get this back?

Too much meat in the deli, not enough veggies. Meat should be 10%. Meat and Veggies are stored together, that is gross to a vegetarian.
Please ONE vegan choice for baked goods in deli.
