Volunteers have been at the heart of Orcas Food Cooperative since the beginning. Through countless planning meetings and a 6-month long remodel of the old Homegrown space the Co-op would not have been possible without the many people who donated their time and skills to realize the vision of our island cooperative. By the time our Co-op opened its doors for business on June 1st 2014 over 300 community members had contributed literally thousands of hours to the project. The Staff and Board of Directors would like to thank everyone who has supported the growth and development of our store by dedicating their time, energy and expertise.

As a young organization our Co-op is growing and evolving rapidly. Volunteering is a great way to participate in your community Co-op and contribute to its on-going success. Member-Owners are NOT required to volunteer at the Co-op. However, volunteering can deepen your connection to the Co-op and enrich your experience as a Member-Owner. We have a lot of fun, and we’d love to have you join us.

Current volunteer opportunities include:

- Helping unpack and put away deliveries that come in on Tuesday mornings
- Garden maintenance
- Quarterly storewide inventory
- Building maintenance and small improvement projects

If you have other ideas and/or are interested in volunteering please email outreach@orcasfood.coop so we can follow up with you.
