Special orders are a great way to make purchasing organic and natural foods more affordable and can also provide you with access to items we don’t normally carry. Everyone can make special orders from the Grocery Department, Meat & Seafood Department, and Produce Department.
UNFI products: Orcas Food Co-op Members pay just 10% above UNFI catalog cost, everyone else pays 25%.
Other products: All special orders of products that are not part of the UNFI catalog will be charged 25% above cost. Orders for Non-UNFI items may require up to two weeks advance notice, so it is good to get in touch as soon as possible.
UNFI orders due: Noon on Friday for delivery the following Tuesday
Pickup: Orders should be picked up after 4pm on the Tuesday they arrive or by the end of the next business day. We appreciate your cooperation with prompt pickup as our storage space is extremely limited. Please note that you are responsible for the items that you order through the special order program. Thus, it is very important that you submit the correct item codes with your order.We primarily offer special ordering through our largest supplier United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI). You can place grocery special orders in the store on the special orders clipboard located by the customer comment box or by sending an e-mail with the necessary info to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Charlie’s Produce: All produce special orders will be charged 25% above cost.
Certified Organic produce can be purchased by the case through the Co-op from Charlie’s Produce, a Seattle-based produce distributor.
Orders Due: Tuesday by 8:00am for delivery Wednesday (the next day). Orders received after this time will not be placed.
Pickup: Wednesday between Noon and 6pm. Due to limited space, produce orders must be picked up the same day as delivery.
For local produce, we recommend you purchase those products directly from the farmers themselves. We are happy to point you in the direction of the farmer that has your desired product available.
